Waynesville – David Edwin Russell, 62, of the Bethel community, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at his residence. David was a native of Haywood County and a son of the late Jack and Helen Price Russell. He was a 1979 graduate of Pisgah High School and a member of Riverside Baptist Church. David worked at Pactiv Evergreen as a crew leader in the pulp mill, and many in the community will remember him as a voice of WPTL Radio for 23 years. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Judy Harkins Russell; a brother, Ronnie Russell (Margaret) of Clyde; sister, Freda Russell Morgan (Tim) of Franklin; nephew, Matthias Russell of Clyde; and a niece, Tara Russell Carver and son, Nathanael, of Clyde.
